Making A Difference on Earth Day

It’s that time of the year, when the global focus turns to what we can do to protect our environment.

April 22 marks Earth Day, an opportunity to highlight how we should invest in our planet and work towards a green future for our existing and future generations. While the day itself does a great job of raising awareness of the issues and challenges facing the human race and how we can protect against them, the truth of the matter is that this is an on-going situation.

What we really need to do is make every day Earth Day – that is find ways that we can make a difference, even if it’s one small step at a time.

Small changes made simple

At WTTB we are very conscious about the world around us and with that in mind, have also offered a number of eco-friendly products. But we are also very proud of the fact we have massively extended that range – making it easier than ever for our customers to choose an environmentally friendly option.

The materials in our recycled products are sustainably sourced with a selection of recyclable and recycled fibres certified to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standards. Using recycled paper cuts down on greenhouse gasses and water pollution so it’s always a good option when it’s practicable for you to do so.

Choosing items made in this way isn’t just about protecting the environment, it can also make sound business sense. Handing over a recycled business card or leaflet shows prospective customers that you are a responsible and ethical operator – and it could just push new business opportunities over the line.

The same goes for recycled flyers – people are far more likely to read what you have to say and believe it if they know that you are passionate about going green.

Our wide selection of recycled book printing options also means that it couldn’t be easier to make sound environmental choices.

Our new range of products also offers some amazing options – from recycled gift tags to recyclable gift boxes to wrapping paper.

There are a number of great, low-cost marketing items that you can share with existing or prospective customers. How about sending out a branded bookmark on recycled materials? It’s a useful tool that will keep your business front of mind.

We’ve also just introduced for the first time a range of “belly bands” – no not something to squeeze round your waist – but a slick and clever way to put your own finishing touch on a product. Not only does it save on packaging but it definitely makes an item look more stylish. Think of a branded band around a bar of homemade soap or a candle or even on a book. Again a very cost-effective, eco-friendly marketing tool.

Restaurants by nature of their work have a lot of waste, so why not think about doubling up your menus on a placemat made of recycled material. Not only will it cut down on your printing costs by combining two items, but it will also help with your carbon footprint – and is likely to be well received by your customers.

Making your customers aware that you use recycled products whenever you can is a great way to boost your profile without even having to make much effort.

An independent study commissioned by SmartestEnergy revealed more than 80 per cent of people prefer to buy from sustainable sellers. According to the survey, four out of five people said they would rather purchase from a brand that showed it was committed to environmental sustainability.

With that in mind, it makes perfect sense to consider eco-friendly products – not just on Earth Day but throughout the year.
