The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been far-reaching, with the virus leaving no stone unturned as it continues to spread across the globe. Global health resources have been diminishing by the day and there have been calls for businesses, both in the UK and abroad, to help where they can.
At Where The Trade Buys, we want to support the community and acknowledge the great efforts our National Health Service and essential workers are putting in to ensure our nation comes through this crisis.
We are working hard with our partners to provide personal protection equipment (PPE) for NHS frontline workers during these unprecedented times. Throughout April we expect to produce 370,000 full face visors , with 500,000 units anticipated for production in both May and June.
PPE is a clear issue in the UK, not just in terms of distribution but also local supply. Rather than waiting on containers from the Far East, we have factories up and down the country that can repurpose their output to solve the problem locally.
We were delighted to partner with Prime Group and ProCo on this project and encourage other print companies around the world by sharing our technical artwork drawings. There are 500,000 NHS front line workers that need PPE each and every day, and a similar number in other care sectors, possibly for the next three to four months.
The full face visors produced have been tested by clinicians at the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester and have been designed for single-use purposes, for those incubating or in close ICU environments, in conjunction with an FFP3 mask, following the guidelines set out by the NHS.
Where The Trade Buys has contributed 50 magnetic car stickers to NHS workers to give them some grace to park up anywhere they need to and move freely to their place of work without query or question.
The car sticker donation ties into our ongoing ‘ Together We Are Stronger ’ campaign, which calls on the public to show support for NHS employees by printing off and designing posters.
The posters, which could be shared on social media and then displayed in living room windows, have helped communities get into the spirit of the nationwide ‘Clap for our Carers’ initiative on Thursday evenings.
