Following consultation with our clients and to ensure an uninterrupted supply of our services, we can confirm that in order to maintain the continuation of these essential services, our business activities and therefore our staff, have been deemed essential to the effective delivery of the COVID-19 response under the following two categories within the Government’s Key Worker classifications:

Keeping operations running is business critical to us and our clients who support the UK public that rely upon their services during the COVID-19 Pandemic response. Therefore, we see the supply of products and services from your company as critical to the continuity of our operations.

Update: Tuesday 24th March

Following the new government restrictions services are continuing as production roles can not be undertaken from home. All other staff are working from home via tested procedures.

Critical Projects

Given that movement restrictions are increasing it would be prudent to assume that there may be further restrictions on certain industries. Thinking about key or mission-critical projects that your business may need and ordering those soon would be sensible planning.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of staff and customers will always be our number one priority. We have put measures in place that currently include:

Increased hygiene, sanitisation, availability of disinfectants onsite across high-volume touchpoints such as:

• Hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the building including kitchens and washrooms.

• Staff strongly encouraged to disinfect their hands before entering the workplace.

• Hand sanitiser wipes/dispensers available for all visitors in public areas of the building.

• Extra cleaning staff & increased routine checks.

Awareness and training of all staff and suppliers on standard personal preventative measures, e.g. personal hygiene, frequency of use of sanitising/disinfection products, etc.

Supply Chain

Where The Trade Buys have been working vigorously to secure stock and ensure there is no disruption to our service. We are fortunate to have acquired stock to a solid level, however, we are sure you will understand the coronavirus outbreak is challenging, given the scale of the crisis and the rate at which it is evolving.

Where The Trade Buys will continue to monitor its supply chain, including raw material and intermediate suppliers and logistics providers and take the required precautions to prevent supply disruptions to our customers. We are committed to keeping our customers updated along the way to make sure supply disruptions are kept to a minimum.

At present all parcel operations continue as normal. All DPD depots and hubs are working as normal and we have no closures affecting any sites. If a customer refuses to sign a handheld device at the point of delivery due to fears of transmission of the virus DPD drivers will still make the delivery and will use the Deliver to Neighbour option available to them to capture an image of the property and a Proof of Delivery name. The driver can also sign the delivery screen and record this as a Refused to Sign incident.

These processes allow DPD to accurately capture and record all deliveries as they would normally do and to provide you with full track and trace reporting. If drivers deliver to a location where it is known someone has the virus, they will deliver the parcel to a safe place. If a safe place option is not permitted the parcel will be returned to the depot.

Should you have any questions regarding the current COVID-19 situation, we are here to assist. You can contact customer service team via phone, email or live chat.
